Nobelist Mindset Program

The Nobelist Mindset Program is one of the programs under GSIAC Cradle to Career initiatives. Championed by UKM under the leadership of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Rahmah Mohamed, the objective of this pilot program is to expose and train students, teachers and young scientists in the mindset necessary to become a Nobel Laureate.

High Level Strategy Meeting & Workshop on Rice R&D for Malaysia

The event was held on the 18-19 December 2012 (Tuesday – Wednesday) at Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel. The meeting was on collaborations between Rothamsted Research/The Norman Borlaug Institute for Global Food Security, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) and Malaysian Biotechnology Corporations (MBC).

2nd Inter-sessional Meeting

The main aim of this meeting is to deliberate further on how global communities with their vast experiences in STI be able to assist Malaysia meeting its agenda to transform the country towards an innovation society and high income advanced economy by 2020. Among the topic which will be discussed are Smart Communities, Climate Engineering, Low Carbon Society and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) related to nutrition problems and food security.

National Coordination Meeting 2/2012Inter Sessional Meeting and Workshop

In preparation for 2nd Inter Sessional Meeting, GSIAC Secretariat has organized a National Coordination Meeting 2/2012 on September 20, 2012. The meeting is chaired by YBhg. Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Zakri Abdul Hamid, Science Advisor to the Prime Minister of Malaysia and Joint Secretaries of GSIAC and with him, Mr. Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman, President & CEO of MIGHT and GSIAC Joint Head Secretariat.

1st Inter Sessional Meeting and Workshop

From the 2nd GSIAC Meeting last month, few high impact programs have been announced by YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia and also the Chairman of GSIAC. As part of the follow up session and moving forward, The Global Science & Innovation Advisory Council (GSIAC) is proudly to organize the 1st Inter Sessional Meeting on July 16, 2012 at San Jose Marriot Hotel, San Jose, California. The meeting is in conjunction with the Global Innovation Summit (16-18 July 2012).

 Background

 

About GSIAC

​The GSIAC is a joint initiative between the Malaysia Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) and the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS).

 

It was initiated as a result of a working visit to the United States by a Malaysian delegation led by YAB Prime Minister from Sept 25 to 30 2010. The GSIAC will be chaired by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, key ministries, corporate leaders and academics.
The Advisory Council will enable the Malaysian Government to make a quantum leap from a middle-income country to a high-income economy by the year 2020.
